At Paley Orthopedic and Spine Institute at St. Mary’s Medical Center, we have a dedicated surgical team for spinal surgery. This includes anesthesiologists, nurse team leader, circulating nurse and surgical technicians. Spinal cord monitoring technicians are also dedicated team members. It is known that dedicated surgical teams decrease operative times, blood loss, un-anticipated return to surgery, and monitoring alerts.
